The elements have now started to work their way in through the roof and open windows, and the harsh coastal Welsh weather has taken its toll on most of the rooms. We first visited here in 2017 when no windows or doors would open without force. Out of respect, we waited until our return a year or so later to find that access was easy, and inevitably the house was not as untouched as it had been before. Whilst we’re lucky to have still found it in a state that lends itself to telling the story of the family that lived here, it’s sad that barely any of what Henry left behind was deemed valuable enough to take away when he left, as in all likelihood he’s probably no longer with us and his home is now his forgotten legacy.
