By the time they had left this site, eventually Arkady had spread across 21 countries and delved into the world of cake, pudding and pastry mixes and before leaving was operating as ‘Arkady Craigmillar’ under the umbrella CSM brand by the time this particular facility closed down. In 2000 they aquired Arkady Craigmillar from Unilever, and three years later built the new facility next door which specialises in dry mix products, increasing production by 60%. CSM Bakery solutions, the world's largest baking corporation originating from the Netherlands still owns the Arkady brand but its heritage appears to have now been reduced to a short page on its website, now existing only as a range of industrial ingredients rather than an individual company in its own right.
