Nearby are a couple of Transit mk3’s or ‘second generation’ known as the VE6. These came in all shapes and sizes and were essentially the true beginning of the multi-purpose transit range that made it a true working mans machine. It was so successful that it remained in production for more than 20 years, with various upgrades along the way such as electric windows and minor facelifts but essentially it was the same vehicle and they were absolutely everywhere.
