A new addition to the abandoned community. Shorrocks Hill resort, a popular health club amongst footballers in Merseyside, UK has fallen into disrepair since the owner was forced to close in January 2015. A personal note on behalf of the owner was found taped to the entrance explaining how maintenance costs to the roof structure became too high and unsafe for the staff and members to use the facility. The pool has since boomed with algae in the summer sun but for the most part everything else appears as though people have simply vanished making it unnervingly quiet. The spa was well known for its beach-in-the-suburbs getaway theme and had become a housewives haven over the last decade. Things are mostly left exactly as they were; even the front desk has glasses half full of drinks and personal documents stacked up as though staff haven’t been allowed back in. Most places I explore have been ransacked and brought beyond recognition from the days of their prime, but Pinetops is very much an exception - a rare thing in this hobby.
